Your Voice Wakefield Advocacy Project

Advocacy Worker — 37.5 hrs per week; £17,200 p.a.

Self Advocacy Worker — 15 hrs per week; £17,200 p.a. pro rata

Your Voice Wakefield Advocacy Project provides advocacy support to adults with learning disabilities and adults on the autism spectrum throughout the Wakefield district.

We are seeking to recruit two new members of the team:

Advocacy Worker:
We wish to recruit a highly motivated and hard-working individual to support adults with learning disabilities in making choices about their lives.

The successful candidate will work on an issue-focussed basis with people requiring advocacy support, covering a range of issues relevant to the lives of adults with learning disabilities.

Self Advocacy Worker:
We are also looking to recruit a worker to support the activities of the Rainbow Self Advocacy Group: a group of adults with learning disabilities in the Wakefield district.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of self-advocacy in Wakefield and the surrounding area.

For both posts experience in this field of a similar is desirable. Above all, a commitment to equality and protecting the rights of adults with learning disabilities is crucial.
